In 1916 the Saranac Inn was purchased by my late Great-Great Grandfather, Harrington Mills. The Inn and its surrounding beauty brought vacationers from all over the globe, as well as the start of a family tradition for my great- grandparents, grandparents, parents, myself and now my children...5 GENERATIONS!!!It is such a treat being able to show Billy and Maggie one of our favorite places, and create new memories in Saranac together. It is hard to believe I have been taking this same picture for 30 years!
The kids were able to spend some quality time with their Nana as she told stories about when she was a little girl growing up on the lake!
Billy spent most of his time at the end of the dock fishing. He was determined to catch "The Big One!" And although he didn't have a hook on his rod, because we all would have lost an eye with his mighty cast, he was perfectly content!
Its never a trip to Saranac without a visit to Tommy's Rock for a jump!
Skiing and tubing, and tossing Uncle Sean around was also a highlight of our trip!
Donnelly's could possibly be the reason we keep coming back to Saranac every year! It is hands-down the best ice cream in the world! We decided to grab a cone before our long journey up Whiteface Mountain!
Here we are about to trek/drive up Whiteface Mountain, which can be seen behind us...
At the summit on Whiteface Mountain...it dropped 30 degrees and was 51 up here!!
WHAT A VIEW! This is overlooking Lake Placid, the top right portion of the Lake is where Tim and I got married, 5 years ago!!!
Billy in the tunnel-cave...very spooky, he liked it!!
Capturing this loon in Back Bay was a great moment for me...I had been chasing him down trying to get the right shot and I think he finally gave in and let me get close :)
Everywhere you look it really is a scene from a postcard. It gave me such great joy photographing it all myself and sharing it all with you! Thanks for visiting!!!
